Clydesdale Group, LLC is a leadership coaching and executive consulting firm run by CTI certified coach, Chris Baker. Chris partners with clients who have typically worked their way up through the ranks of a given profession or trade. His clients often find themselves in transition; new to leadership, promoted, in development for leadership, filling a new role, making a career change, have discovered blind-spots, or simply want to improve.
About Chris baker
Chris was a leadership professional in the Gas and Electric T&D Industry for 30 years. He spent the last 15 years of his career at Pacific Gas & Electric in Superintendent and Director positions. Currently, he is a CTI certified coach for his own leadership consulting firm, Clydesdale Group LLC.
Chris received his BS in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly and an MBA from San Jose State University. During his higher education journey, Chris discovered his passion for the study and practice of Leadership. He continues to cultivate and build his education in leadership, management, and, most recently, Servant Leadership. Chris considers himself to be a student of leadership and coaching 24/7.
Chris completed the Stanford Graduate School of Business: PG&E Leading Forward Program. He is a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, is Change Leadership Roadmap Trained through Being First Inc., is trained and highly experienced in ICS (Incident Command System), and recently received his CPCC Certification through Coaches Training International (CTI).
As a husband, father, and friend, Chris has been guiding those in his life long before he embarked on his journey into the coaching profession. Chris is a Stage 3 Cancer (Melanoma) Survivor. An avid cyclist, Chris competes in both Mountain Bike Cross-Country and Cyclocross. He has competed in close to 200 races over the last 20 years, becoming the California State Clydesdale (over 200#) Cross Country Mountain Bike State Champion in 2012 and winning the Napa Dirt Classic Cross Country Mountain Bike Race (Clydesdale). He is currently a board member of Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz.
